Can't Complain
Things have been going very well lately. We had auditions this past Thursday, and I am happy to report that I made orchestra! And, after chair auditions on Friday, I was assigned to play principal on Beethoven's 6th Symphony. :) Sooooo excited. If any of you are free Sunday, September 25th at 3:30, you should come hear me play. So, anyway, I am very happy about that.
After auditions Friday morning, I hopped in my car and drove home. As most of you know now, my brother is moving to Maine to start school at the Landing School of Boatbuilding and Design. He leaves Thursday, so I wanted to spend the weekend at home with him before he leaves. Friday night, Dad, Brad, two of our neighbors, and I went to the Nats game. It was fun, and they won, which was great. Saturday, PC and Will threw a party for Brad at Will's house. That was a ton of fun. I got to see a bunch of people from elementary school, middle school, and high school, many of whom I hadn't seen in years. I think Brad had a good time, too, and that's the important part.
Sunday, I went to the Alpha Psi Omega welcome back show here at school, and then we had a Kappa get-together. It was nice seeing all of my brothers again. Classes started Monday, and things are back in full swing. I am doing well, and I really can't complain about anything. Life is good. :)

Summary of the Summer
Well, the summer is drawing to a close. Shenandoah Summer Music Theatre is finally over. I played in three shows this summer: Chicago, Guys and Dolls, and Beauty and the Beast. It was a lot of fun, but there was quite a bit of drama. I truly loved playing for Beauty and the Beast. The show was just so much fun, and it was nice to be playing music that was challenging, beautiful, and fun. There were several moments when I got chills. That hasn't happened really in years. So, while there was a lot of drama, I am really glad I did it. I got a taste of what it means to be a professional musician. I loved it. :) The other great part was that I got to bond with people I hadn't had the opportunity to meet during the school year. I had some fun times with some fantastic people. I especially enjoyed getting to know Jen (my neighbor and stand partner for Chicago!), Luke (my Texas partner in crime), and Kristen (my fellow Disney fan). As a special treat, David and April drove up from Charlottesville to come see the show and stay the night with me. It was wonderful seeing them again, and I am so glad they came. Thanks, guys!!
After the shows were over, Sarah and I went to one of our professor's houses and babysat his ten year-old boy/girl twins for six days. As part of a set of boy/girl twins, it was very interesting to see the dynamics of the two of them. It was a lot of work, though. Seriously. Trust me when I tell you that you don't want to have twins.
Speaking of twins, I am very excited for my brother. He's starting at the Landing School of Boat Building and Design in Kennebunk Port, ME in September. This is something he's always wanted to do, and I am really glad that he has this opportunity. I am going to miss him a lot, though. Maine is very far away.
Finally, as my summer draws to a close, I am busy packing up my old apartment and unpacking and organizing things in my new apartment. I am very excited about my new apartment, and I totally love my roommates. And to all of you, my friends, please come visit me!
